Saguaro National Park (East)

Saguaro National Park is broken into two separate sections.  Saguaro National Park (East) to the east of Tuscon and Saguaro National Park (West) to the, you guessed it, west of Tuscon.  The eastern section is more mountainous with a larger square footage while the western portion is lower in elevation and boasts a denser saguaro forest. The east has more hiking trails and is the only region where backpacking is allowed, the west is the better choice if time is short.

The beauty of the Saguaros and other plant life of Saguaro National Park is beyond words.  It can all be seen by hiking or by the scenic Cactus Forest Drive. This 8-mile drive offers access to trailheads, scenic vistas, and pullouts inside the park.
