What it's about
Clayton Lake State Park, located in northeastern New Mexico, is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and camping. The park’s lake is well-stocked with trout, catfish, and bass, attracting anglers year-round. The park is also home to one of the most significant dinosaur trackways in North America, with hundreds of well-preserved footprints visible on the lake’s sandstone shoreline. Visitors can enjoy hiking and wildlife viewing in the park’s scenic surroundings. Clayton Lake is also designated as a Dark Sky Park, making it ideal for stargazing.
