Tips
You must get a permit to hike The Wave. This is one of the most sought-after permits in all of Arizona. There are two ways to get a permit.
1. Apply 4 months in advance to the monthly lottery. For example, if you wanted to hie the wave in October you would need to enter the lottery during the month of Juen. 48 spots are selected for each day in this manner.
2. Register for the day-of lottery that selects 16 additional individuals per day. This lottery is held 2 days prior to your desired hiking date. To enter the letter you must apply via recreation.gov's app.
