Fossil Creek Falls is one of the most popular hiking trails in Arizona. The hike itself is relatively short and easy but the payoff is spectacular. The highlight of the hike is undoubtedly Fossil Creek Falls itself, a 30-foot tall waterfall that tumbles over a cliff into a pool below. The falls are especially impressive after a rainstorm, when the creek is running high.
THIS AREA IS CURRENTLY CLOSED due to unsafe conditions resulting from from the Backbone Fire.
Parking permits purchased (and printed) in advance are required for all vehicles entering the Fossil Creek Wild & Scenic River area during the high season (April 1 through October 1).
