Hanakoa Falls, which can be found on the beautiful and well-known Napali Coast, is tucked away in the picturesque highlands about halfway along the Kalalau Trail. The falls are believed to be approximately 1,000 feet tall from top to bottom, although from the viewing locations along the route, only partial tiers are visible due to elevation variations and natural barriers.
The hike to the falls is a tough 13 mile out and back hike. The trip can take anywhere from 6-10 hours depending on your speed and the conditions.

This is a tough hike and permits are required. It is recommend to purchased the permits ahead of time as there are a limited amount of them available.
Entry to the trail past Hanakapiai Beach (this hike is past Hanakapiai Beach) requires a camping permit.
The trail was narrow with constant drop-offs, therefore it would not be considered family friendly.
