What it's about
Kahuku Golf Course, situated along Oahu’s scenic North Shore, offers a unique golfing experience characterized by its simplicity and natural beauty. Established in 1937, this historic nine-hole, par-35 course spans 2,699 yards from the longest tees.
Unlike many modern courses, Kahuku maintains a traditional approach by not providing motorized golf carts, encouraging players to walk the course and fully immerse themselves in the serene coastal environment. For those who prefer assistance, pull carts are available for rent.
The course’s layout includes four par-3s, three par-5s, and two par-4s, offering a balanced challenge suitable for golfers of varying skill levels. Its proximity to the ocean means that nearly every hole presents stunning sea views, with the sound of waves enhancing the tranquil atmosphere. The sandy soil and links-style design contribute to its distinctive character, reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses.
While the amenities are modest, with a simple clubhouse and vending machines for refreshments, the course’s charm lies in its unpretentious setting and the opportunity to enjoy golf in a pure form. The absence of extensive facilities is compensated by the rich history and the genuine aloha spirit that pervades the grounds.
