Description
Waimea Canyon is just about the most beautiful places on Kauai. And one of the best ways to experience its natural beauty is at Kalalau Lookout. There is no need to hike to this lookout as it is directly off the Kokee Rd. But for those adventurous enough this point is also the head of the Kalepa Ridge Trail.
The hike itself is considered difficult and not recommended for tourists in sneakers. It is a 2 mile out and back treck that should only be attempted if the weather is cooperating and you are an experienced hiker.
Tips
Sometimes the views are obscured due to being in the clouds. If it's completely covered when you get there, just wait 5-10 minutes it often changes.
