Description
Kīpū Falls is also widely known for being the filming location of the introduction scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Located on the south shore of the island, the falls are accessible via a short hike through a lush tropical forest. The Falls themselves are about 15 feet tall and cascade over a series of rocks into a large pool below. Visitors can swim in the pool or take in the views from above.
Tips
Kipu Falls is one of many waterfalls on Kauai that is best appreciated from a distance even if it is stunning up close. It has developed a reputation for being extremely dangerous due to drowning deaths' as well as numerous accidents on the trail.
The track to the goes through private land. It is up to the owner as to weather or not the access route is open.
