The journey to the falls itself is an enjoyable one, taking you through lush foliage and along a peaceful stream. After crossing a few small streams and navigating some muddy spots, you’ll reach the falls and its tranquil pool. The water is refreshing, though it’s best to be cautious as the rocks around the falls can be slippery, and the water may contain bacteria. The falls provide a calm and serene spot to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of O‘ahu.
To access the trail, park near the Koʻolau Golf Club. Although parking near the trailhead can be limited, you can usually find a spot along the side of Kīnāʻole Road. It’s important to respect private property and avoid blocking driveways. The trailhead itself is just beyond a yellow gate, and from there, you’ll follow a service road for a short distance before reaching the main trail.
