Meteor Crater is a massive hole in the ground located near Winslow, Arizona. It's nearly a mile wide and more than 550 feet deep and believed to have been formed about 50,000 years ago by an asteroid no more than 150 feet in diameter. Meteor Crater has been preserved as a National Natural Landmark in the United States, and it's one of the best-known examples of a meteorite impact on Earth.
