Description
Located in the desert foothills of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Arizona, Taliesin West was architect Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home and Studio from 1937 until his death in 1959. Until 2020 it served as the main campus of The School of Architecture at Taliesin and houses the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. The property includes multiple buildings, all designed by Wright, as well as a garden, pool, and theater. Visitors can take tours of the site led by student guides, which provide an insider's perspective on the history and architecture of Taliesin West.
Tips
To visit the Campus check out one of its upcoming events or plan a tour. Guided tours are available 7 days a week. You can check the availability of the tour on their website, and be sure to book in advance. You will move from outside to inside as you walk about the campus, so be sure to plan on the weather.
