Tombstone, Arizona is one of the most well-known ghost towns in the United States. Located in the southeastern part of the state, Tombstone was once a thriving mining town with a population of over 14,000. However, after the mines were exhausted, the town began to decline. By the early 1900s, most of the businesses had closed and the population had dwindled to just a few hundred. Today, Tombstone is a popular tourist destination, but it still has a feeling of being frozen in time. Many of the original buildings are still standing, and visitors can get a sense of what life was like in this wild west town.
