The Apache Trail in Arizona was a stagecoach trail that ran through the Superstition Mountains. It currently links the outer edge of greater Phoenix, Arizona with Roosevelt lake. It's a wonderful scenic drive that offers great views without having to leave the car. Tortilla Flat itself is an old ghost town that offers a bite to eat and shopping. Don't miss the gunfights in the middle of town.
Coming from Phoenix the drive turns into an unpaved dirt road after Tortilla Flat. This makes the town a great place to stop for lunch and shopping at the gifts shops.
