Waterfall

What it's about

Waikahalulu Falls, nestled within the Liliʻuokalani Botanical Garden in Honolulu, offers a serene escape from the city’s hustle. This modest 10-foot waterfall cascades over a wide rock bed, creating a tranquil pool below. The area, once a favorite picnic spot of Queen Liliʻuokalani, the last reigning monarch of Hawaiʻi, is now a public garden dedicated to native Hawaiian plants.

The falls are easily accessible, requiring minimal walking from the garden’s entrance. Visitors can enjoy the soothing sounds of the waterfall amidst the lush tropical greenery, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and reflection. While the water may appear inviting, it’s advisable to avoid swimming due to potential water quality concerns.

To reach Waikahalulu Falls, head to the Liliʻuokalani Botanical Garden. The garden is open daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering free admission. Parking is available on-site, but spaces can be limited, so consider arriving early.
