Description
Wave Cave is a fun and popular hiking destination located just outside of Phoenix. The cave is located in the Wave Rock formation, which is composed of sandstone and siltstone. The Wave Cave hike is a moderate to difficult hike, with an elevation gain of about 1,000 feet. The hike begins at the base of the Wave Rock formation and follows a winding trail up to the cave. Along the way, hikers can enjoy views of the surrounding desert landscape. When they reach the cave, hikers are treated to a stunning view of the Wave Rock formation. The Wave Cave hike is a great way to experience the natural beauty of Arizona.
Tips
There is no cost to hike the Wave Cave. Be sure to bring lots of water and and your Hawaiian shirt. For pictures with the best result, it may help to bring an outside light source as it is pretty dark in the cave and your backdrop will be the sunny Arizona sky!
